The Vesta Fire Department has been serving our community since 1901 when the first fire engine and apparatus was ordered. The Fire Department is led by officers elected from within the department itself and some of the fire-fighting vehicles include a grass rig, front - line pumper, mack tanker, rescue rig and ambulance.
Mutual Aid Agreements
Since fires do not respect governmental boundaries, the VFD has “mutual aid” agreements with surrounding communities who have agreed to render assistance when requested with manpower and equipment to fight fires. In addition, the VFD provides fire protection contractually with several neighboring townships. Emergency assistance is also provided by the Fire Department to the Police and Sheriff’s Department as well as ambulance services.
